Versailles and the Sun King

We got up bright and early and it was still dark. We went and got chocolate croissants for breakfast and brought them back to the room. Then we took the train to Versailles, home of Louis the XVIII and Marie Antoinette. It was so beautiful and they have done a lot of restoration since I was there 38 years ago. We toured the palace, walked the gardens, went to Marie Antoinettes, get away house called the petite Trianon. Then we sped walked through the Grand Trianon because they were closing. You can't believe the opulance these people lived in. No wonder Paris was starving. The king was spending all of their money. We rode the train back to Paris and got off at the Eiffel tower. That was another WOW. It is covered with little white light that twinkle on the hour. It was so cool. We ate crepes from a vender on the street and headed back to the hotel exhasted! We stopped at the MonoPrix across from the hotel and bought baguette, ham, cheese and wine to munch on for dinner. We were so tired.
