Hoopsister's Block of the month

October 23, 2010 from 10-2 we will be beginning our Hoopsisters program. Hoopsisters is a quilting project that is made entirely in the embroidery hoop. It will take 10 months to complete. 4 blocks are made each month. We will make one or two in class each saturday we meet, and then you will make the other 2 at home. We will watch a power point presentation and then make the block. The options are a 5" block for Aurora, Artista, and Deco or an 8" block for the new 830. 830 owners may either bring their machines or make a sample on your portable embroidery machines and make the 8" block at home. There is quite a bit of prep work so don't wait to long to select your fabrics. The front and back of the quilt are made at the same time or you may want to only make the front and put your own backing on later. There are many thread changes but that is not necessary if you would like to use just one or two colors.
